Booka is a Supply Nation-registered Indigenous-owned company helping government agencies understand, manage and act on complex information environments.
Our solutions combine Nuix technology, specialist teams and practical delivery experience to support Freedom of Information processing, investigations, digital records and large-scale archival discovery.
We support government delivery through recruitment, specialist delivery teams and Nuix-powered information discovery solutions. Our focus is practical implementation, ensuring new capabilities are embedded and adopted so they deliver measurable outcomes.
We work alongside agencies to strengthen delivery capacity, manage complex information environments and implement new ways of working that continue beyond individual projects.

Booka's Backstory

Willie Booka, the great grandfather of one of our founders David Bensley, was born on the Island of Epi, Vanuatu. He was an indentured labourer stolen from his community (Blackbird slave) in 1903 to cut cane and small crops in QLD. Willie and Emily (1873 -1951, born in Gunnedah), a domestic servant, met in the Tweed because of the large South Sea Islander and First Nations Bundjalung communities. He married and had three children with Emily Booka. One of which was David Bensley's grandmother Emily Walsh (1911 – 1990). Emily’s grandfather (Jimmy Williams – Kamilaroi man) worked on Thomas Haydon’s Station (or Haydonton) – Murrurundi.
